"Twin Seabees in Vietnam:" Local Authors Gary & Terry Romes In-Person
In 1968, Gary Romes and his twin brother Terry headed off to Vietnam for nine months as part of the Seabees-Naval Construction Battalions. This is their story, captured through pictures, daily diaries, and written transcripts, of how they got there and their experiences in Vietnam. It is a story about two brothers and the family support that got them through the war, their lives post-Vietnam, and through the present day, impacted by disability and exposure to Agent Orange as a result of their time in the service. It is also a story of their father who was a Seabee in World War II stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
This program is brought to you in conjunction with the Vermilion Ohio Rotary Club; Rotary is an international humanitarian service organization made up of both men and women from area business and professional entities who volunteer their time and resources to help others in their local communities and throughout the world.
