Come join the Ritter Detective Agency! Each month we will come together to discuss our true crime book of the month. But then... we will put our skills to the test and try to solve a mystery ourselves!

September Book: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

We invite you to attend this book discussion group where we will be focusing on the top 100 books of the last 100 years! We will have started with the year 2021 and are making our way backwards ending with 1922!
Premise of the book: In Las Vegas to cover a motorcycle race, Raoul Duke (Thompson) and his attorney Dr. Gonzo (inspired by a friend of Thompson) are quickly diverted to search for the American dream. Their quest is fueled by nearly every drug imaginable and quickly becomes a surreal experience that blurs the line between reality and fantasy. But there is more to this hilarious tale than reckless behavior--for underneath the hallucinogenic facade is a stinging criticism of American greed and consumerism.

Similar to a book discussion, but for films! Each month there will be a film to watch on your own time and then come together to discuss as a group. Discussion topics include concepts such as theme and the art of film-making.
This month will we be watching Memento (2000) by director Christopher Nolan. It is rated R for violence, language and some drug content.
